Isn’t it so much easier to see innocence in babies and children than it is in grown-ups? (Or teens?)
If a baby is crying, our first instinct is to help it – to hold and comfort, soothe it and rock it – to convey the message that it is safe and loved.
Babies get fussy and cry because it is their only way of conveying that they need help – they have to cry out for it. They don’t know any better or have any other tools.
And when they are heard and attended to – when they are held and loved and soothed and reassured, they eventually calm down.
Lesson 182 in the Workbook of A Course in Miracles,
“I will be still an instant and go home”
talks about the Christ child within us being in need of our love and attention. All that Baby wants is to go home.
The Baby in this case is the Truth of you, your innocence, the Light of God in you.
We need to listen to our Inner Baby – and we do so by taking care of the Christ child in all of our bros. It is in their reflection that we see ourselves.
This week, find a photo of yourself as the beautiful baby that you were, and put it in a place of honor where you will see it and love it every day. Reconnect with your defenselessness, your innocence, your purity, your Truth.
Remind yourself as you look at this image that this is your Christ child, and that you have never left home. Tuck yourself into the warm, soothing arms of Spirit and allow yourself to be held, and rocked – resting in the safety of forever.
Thank you, beautiful Baby, for joining me today.
If you’d like to go deeper with living from the place of your own innocence and light – book a free Discovery call with me.
I love you.
