Stay Gold

I recently attended a crazy-awesome show called the Gold Over America Tour, which was a fantastic performance of amazing female gymnastics superstars led by Simone Biles.

The show was not a competition, but rather a celebration of both the love of the sport and the “gold” that is in everyone.

It f*cking ROCKED! If mind-blowing, next-level athletic prowess and epic, flygirl dance moves had a baby, it would be this show – and it would have a heart of absolute GOLD.

Staying Gold, as a matter of fact, which was the powerful message delivered throughout the performance.

Gold, as defined by loving and honoring the truth of yourself. Seeing your beauty. Standing for yourself. Self-care.

I think of our gold in A Course in Miracle’s philosophy as the way in which we are all asked to see ourselves and each other – the innocent, gorgeous, rays of shimmering God-light that we are.

The gold in you is your love, your joy, your peace. It is your gratitude, your trust, your generosity. Your gold is your humor, your compassion, your certainty. It is your kindness, your strength, your wholeness.

The gold within you is your refusal to self-abandon, your insistence that you are neither a victim nor a body. It is the valuing of yourself for the love that you are, rather than for anything that you are not.

Your gold is your willingness to forgive your illusions. To re-author your story. To see your own innocence reflected in your brother. Every brother.

The more you witness his radiance, the more brightly burns your own.

Your gold sparkles on your breath, which is the Breath of God. It beams from your heart, which beats in the rhythm of God. It shines from your eyes, which see with God’s vision.

Your gold is the cord that connects you with God, with me, with everyone that has ever been or ever will be, which is ONE. Forever.
