A Course in Miracles- Asking for Specific Answers

One area a lot of students of A Course in Miracles find confusing is in asking for specific answers to questions about living in the world.

It’s like we think that because the Course teaches that this world is an illusion, we’re not allowed to ask for answers to the challenges we face in the illusion itself while believing we’re here. That’s one way the ego mind tries to Course-block us – telling us that it means we’re getting an F in ACIM if we ask the only part of our mind that actually knows what the answer is.

A Course in Miracles addresses asking for answers in Chapter 11 this way:

“You may complain that this course is not sufficiently specific for you to understand and use…This is not a course in the play of ideas, but in their practical application. Nothing could be more specific than to be told that if you ask you will receive.”
T-11.VIII.5:1-4

Instead, the ego intervenes with its “seek and do not find” fake guidance, which tells us we have to figure it all out on our own and find solutions using the level of mind that created the problems in the first place.

Choosing a teacher that shows you the way rather than one who is invested in you not finding it is kind of the equivalent of driving with Jesus navigating vs. the guy that’s planning to rob you blind and steal your ride. Just saying.

In this video I talk about an instance from my own life that’s sort of funny that happened when a minor situation (one of many) devolved into kind of a sh*tshow because it never occurred to me to ask Spirit for the answer. My experience could have been hella easier, the simple solution arrived at much faster, and with way less crazy had I simply asked for it.

My hope in sharing it is that it may inspire you to just ask for the damn answer already and avoid hassles, delays, missed opportunities, and calling the Fire Dept, or whatever other ego treats may be down the not-asking road.
